China Headlines as Who Murdered Tiananmen Square Activist Li Wangyang? Who cares? But to Distract Hong Kong Spoilers away from Hu Jintao’s Visit to stipulate the Island’s Autonomous Destiny and Who gonna Fuck them Next?
Here-is-Bullshit-of-The-Day from Annie Wu Epoch Times Staff:
Chinese Regime Orders Investigation Into Li Wangyang’s Death
Believed to be attempt to deflate Hong Kong protests prior to Hu Jintao’s visit. Amid strong protests from the Chinese public both in and outside China, on Thursday, June 14, Chinese officials announced through Hong Kong media that they will be conducting an investigation into the death of Chinese democracy activist and dissident Li Wangyang. Li was jailed for more than two decades following his attempt to establish an independent labor union in his hometown of Shaoyang City, Hunan province during the 1989 democracy movement. On June 6, Li was found dead in an apparent suicide at the hospital where he was being treated for diabetes and heart disease. However, Li’s relatives and friends suspect that the suicide was staged, as Li was found hanging from a window security bar with his two feet planted on the ground. In addition, Li’s family found it difficult to believe that Li, who was blind and nearly deaf from years of torture in prison, would have been able to succeed in a suicide attempt. Just a week before his death, Li was interviewed by a Hong Kong cable television station, where he expressed his determination to fight for an end to the Communist Party’s authoritarian rule. This past week, protests have escalated in Hong Kong, where many have voiced their demand for a thorough investigation into the cause of Li’s death. On June 14, a spokesman from the Hunan Province national security bureau announced via the state-run Hong Kong China News Agency that forensic experts from an outside province have been commissioned to conduct an autopsy and investigate Li’s death. The spokesman noted that the findings from the investigation will be made public. Around 25,000 people took part in a protest over the mysterious death of Chinese dissident Li Wangyang in Hong Kong on June 10. (Song Xianglong/The Epoch Times) As Chinese leader Hu Jintao is expected to visit Hong Kong on July 1 for the 15th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China, analysts believe that the decision to open an investigation into Li’s death is an attempt to silence the widespread discontent in Hong Kong and prevent protesters from targeting Hu and “ruining” his visit. In an interview with Hong Kong newspaper Apple Daily, Lee Cheuk Yan, chairman of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China, said the investigation is likely a measure to prevent Hong Kong residents from taking to the streets at the annual July 1 march and criticizing Hu Jintao for Li’s death. In 2003, the July 1 march drew large numbers of protesters who opposed the Basic Law Article 23 legislation, an anti-subversion law that they believed would have curbed the political and religious freedom of groups that the Chinese Communist Party disproves of. The legislation was then shelved indefinitely. Since then, the march has continued to draw large crowds, although not of the size of the 2003 march. Lee called the investigation a “stalling tactic,” adding: “Li Wangyang’s sister and family have not been released yet, his friends are still being held under close surveillance by the police—how can this [investigation] possibly serve to redress the injustice done to Li?” As of June 13, Li’s sister and brother-in-law have not yet returned to their home after checking out of the hotel where they stayed to oversee Li’s funeral, according to a statement by Hong Kong rights group Information Center for Human Rights and Democracy (ICHRD). Although Chinese authorities promised an autopsy, it is unclear how it will conducted, as the ICHRD reported that Li’s body was cremated on June 9 (without the permission of Li’s family). According to information provided to The Epoch Times by a reliable source within the Hunan Province Public Security Bureau, the primary suspect for Li’s death is the police chief at the Shaoyang City Domestic Security Division, Zhao Luxiang. He was heavily involved in the persecution of students and laborers during the June 4th movement, as well as democracy activists in Shaoyang City. The democracy activist Paul Guo, who lives outside China, claimed in a recent post on twitter that high ranking officials in the Political and Legislative Affairs Committee (PLAC) ordered Li’s murder in order to stop him from talking to foreign media and to crush the Hong Kong People’s hope for redressing June 4—the Tiananmen Square massacre. The PLAC is the powerful Party organ that controls nearly all law enforcement agencies in China.

SAY IT IN CHINESE NIGGA
Statement by the President on Yom HaShoah

Women always say that giving birth is much more painful than a guy getting kicked in the nuts.
Here is proof that they are absolutely wrong.
A year or so after giving birth, many women will say: “It’d be nice to have another baby.”
You never hear a bloke say: “I wouldn’t mind another kick in the nuts.”
Case closed.

“
President Obama is gearing up for his presidential campaign. He’s creating a new series of ads. The first ad boasts “just last week my Secret Service created jobs for 11 Colombian women.” –
Conan O’Brien
“The Secret Service prostitution scandal has gotten worse because apparently agents were also snorting cocaine. However, in the agents’ defense, the Colombian hotels offer cocaine in the mini bar.” –Conan O’Brien
“Conservatives are now criticizing President Obama because as a child in Indonesia he sometimes ate dog meat. But on the plus side, Obama is now polling very well among cats.” –Conan O’Brien
“President Obama, in his memoir, talked about his childhood in Indonesia living with his stepfather. He said when he was 8 years old, his stepfather introduced him to a number of unusual meats, including dog. Our president ate dog. Not only that, according to the book, he also ate snake. And his mother was looking for tiger. He was eating through Noah’s Ark.” –
Jimmy Kimmel
“Between Romney and Obama, it is a frightening time to be a dog in this country. But the best time ever to be a cat.” –Jimmy Kimmel
“
Mitt Romney has already begun the process of choosing a running mate. Romney wants someone with a different ethnicity who appeals to women, so his first choice is President Obama.” –Conan O’Brien

Fox News reported it, ‘black man loots house, steals white woman.’” –Bill Maher

WTF:
India has No Balls to 80km away Himalaya claim that china enjoys looting and yet Fired Fuckn’
Missile CAPABLE of carrying
Nuclear Warheads as Far as Shanghai or Beijing. A beer lout must peed in Saraswat Supari. Wow! It’s a Godsend Headline for Hillary to Start: Shanti..Shanti..Hare..Oum
Here is
China Digital Times Reaction:
Days after the failed launch of North Korea’s Unha-3 rocket, India has successfully tested a missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads as far as Shanghai or Beijing. The new
Agni-V—”Fire-V” in Hindi—has a range of 5,000 km, compared with the 3,500 km reach of its immediate predecessors. The Indian government, however, insists that the missile is intended strictly as a deterrent. From The Associated Press:
“India has emerged from this launch as a major missile power,” he said ….
In Washington, State Department spokesman Mark Toner said the
United States urges all nuclear-capable states to exercise restraint regarding nuclear capabilities.
“That said, India has a solid non-proliferation record,” he told a news briefing. “They’re engaged with the international community on non-proliferation issues.”
Global Times met the impending launch with an implicit accusation of Western double standards, and a cattily patronising tone towards India.
… India apparently is hoping to enter the global intercontinental missile club, despite intercontinental missiles normally having a range of over 8,000 km ….
… India is still poor and lags behind in infrastructure construction, but its society is highly supportive of developing nuclear power and the West chooses to overlook India’s disregard of nuclear and missile control treaties. The West remains silent on the fact that India’s military spending increased by 17 percent in 2012 and the country has again become the largest weapons importer in the world ….
China understands the Indian desire to catch up with China. China, as the most appropriate strategic target for India, is willing to take India as a peaceful competitor.
The cited 17% growth in 2012 is considerably higher than China’s own planned increase of 11.2%, but some analysts believe that the Chinese defence budget as a whole is understated by around a third. The stated “normal”
ICBM range of 8,000 km, on the other hand, appears exaggerated for rhetorical effect: others set the bar at a more modest 5,500 km, still just outside the Agni-V’s reach. But The Diplomat suggested that, in any case, Indian ambitions of “true” ICBM ownership were less clear-cut than the Global Times made out.
There’s a something of a debate in India … on whether the country should seek to enhance the Agni-V to extend its range past the largely symbolic 5,500 kilometer marker. Former President
APJ Kalam, who’s often referred to as the “Missile Man of India” for the pivotal role he played in developing New Delhi’s ballistic missiles as an aerospace engineer at DRDO, has suggested he wouldn’t be in favor of doing so.
“An ICBM with 5,000-km range was enough as the potential enemies were well within this range,” Kalam told a group of university students last November. When a student asked him if an ICBM with a longer range should be developed, Kalam simply replied that India didn’t face threats from the transatlantic community, The Tribune reported.

FREEMASONS BANISHED BO XILAI FOR MURDERN’ THEIR OLD HARROVIAN NEIL HEYWOOD WHO BREWED DOLLARS FOR BEIJING OUTTA THIN AIR. NOW THEY ARE GOIN’ AFTER HIS BITCH LULU
Here is Some Conspiracy Theorist Pot to Chew Nontroversies:
Wang Lulu, the grieving widow of British businessman Neil Heywood, has begged for help to flee China
The grieving widow of British businessman Neil Heywood begged for help to flee China yesterday.
Chinese-born Wang Lulu made a dramatic visit to the British Embassy in Beijing.
She is understood to have asked for a visa to escape to the UK with her two young children.
Friends said they were ‘very worried’ about her safety, days after Chinese authorities named the wife of prominent politician Bo Xilai as a suspect in Mr Heywood’s murder.
His widow is afraid that the people who killed her husband might now come after her and her family.
The scandal has become the biggest political storm in decades in China and has prompted allegations of corruption in the emerging superpower’s highest echelons.
Visitors to the Heywood family home in an exclusive gated compound in Beijing were turned away by troops from the People’s Liberation Army.
The presence of the crack troops triggered fears that Mrs Heywood would be barred from fleeing the country, and sources said police had ordered her not to communicate with international journalists.
The Chinese government routinely clamps down on relatives and friends of dissidents who threaten its rule, and commentators fear it will show typical ruthlessness to Mrs Heywood as it prepares for a once-in-a-decade leadership transition this autumn.
Mr Bo, 62, was tipped for a place at the very top of the ruling Communist Party’s national leadership until his family was engulfed in the scandal surrounding 41-year-old Mr Heywood’s death.
British expat Neil Heywood was found dead in a hotel room in Chongqing, western China, in November
Gu Kailai is in custody and her husband, politician Bo Xilai, is under house arrest
The Old Harrovian was found in a hotel room in the city of Chongqing, western China, in November.
His death was initially blamed on excess alcohol and his body was cremated without a post-mortem examination.
But friends said he rarely drank and the case was reopened when a former police chief told U.S. officials he believed the British expatriate was poisoned.
Briton ‘murdered by wife’ of Chinese politician ‘stashed financial secrets with lawyer’ as he became fearful for his life
This week, Chinese authorities named Mr Bo’s wife Gu Kailai as a suspect in the investigation and the Communist Party suspended her husband.
Mrs Gu is now in police custody and her husband under virtual house arrest, facing an investigation for serious disciplinary violations. A servant at the family home was also named as a suspect in the ‘intentional homicide’.
Visitors to the Heywood family home in an exclusive gated compound in Beijing were turned away by troops from the People’s Liberation Army
Mr Heywood knew the powerful couple for more than a decade and helped their son Bo Guagua, whom he had taught English, win a place at Harrow before studying at Oxford.
Mrs Gu was said to be godmother to the Heywoods’ 11-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son, who both attend the Beijing branch of Dulwich College, an international school for expats and privileged Chinese children.
But friends said Mr Heywood feared for his safety following an angry confrontation with Mrs Gu, 54, in which she allegedly ordered him to divorce his wife and swear a Mafia-style oath of allegiance to her family.
He reportedly gave a file detailing the Bo family’s finances to a British lawyer and described the papers as his ‘insurance policy’ should anything happen to him.
The business consultant was also said to have approached British authorities in 2010 about applying for citizenship for his wife.
A spokesman for the British Embassy in Beijing refused to confirm or deny Mrs Heywood’s visit yesterday, but confirmed the family had been offered consular ‘protection’.
Party boy: Gu Kailai’s son, Bo Guagua, embraces two young friends in a series of snaps posted on the internet. He has been in hiding since the scandal that engulfed his family
He told the Daily Mail: ‘Mrs Heywood is a Chinese national. If she wants to leave she can apply for a visa. Her children have British passports.’
Mrs Heywood has refused to discuss the case, saying only that she is ‘so sad’ about her husband’s death.
A source said she had been warned to say nothing, saying: ‘Police officers questioned her recently and warned her not to speak to foreign media.’
Friends said they were worried for her safety as she struggled to cope with her grief and raising her children alone.
One said: ‘If a friend of yours had died of some natural causes or had been bumped off on the other side of the world, and he was married and had two children, would you be concerned?
‘All his friends are concerned. We are all worried about all of them.’
Schoolfriends of Mr Heywood angrily rejected suggestions yesterday of any connection between the Harrow ‘old boy network’ and the murky circumstances surrounding the Briton’s murder.
According to one report, an ‘Old Harrovian Group of Four’, said to be doing business in China, fell out with Mrs Gu in 2005 over an alleged joint business venture.
Bo Guagua was sent to the famous Harrow School where he was mentored by Neil Heywood
Mr Heywood helped her son Bo Guagua get a place at Harrow, which charges fees of £7,345 a term, despite her husband’s political salary being little more than £300 a month.
After Harrow, Bo Guagua studied at Balliol College Oxford and is now at Harvard, where he has been in hiding since the scandal engulfed his family.
Edmund Robb gave the eulogy at Mr Heywood’s funeral in Battersea, south London, before Christmas.
Mr Robb, who has lived and worked in China and describes Mr Heywood as ‘my oldest and best friend’, described claims about a ‘Group of Four’ as ‘bizarre’ and added: ‘We will be taking the appropriate action. We have referred the matter to the Press Complaints Commission.’

A hundred years ago the Titanic sank. It was supposed to be unsinkable. If they were going to make that same cruise again today, thanks to global warming they would not have to worry about icebergs.
Because Mitt Romney is a Mormon he can actually have several vice presidents. Did you know that?
I signed up to do this show for two more years here at CBS. My goal is to be pushed out like Regis was.

It is a tough day for Rick Santorum, who suspended his presidential campaign. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that he dropped out the day hot dog pizza was announced. Seeing this abomination, Rick realized that humanity has veered just too far off the path of moral righteousness.
Hot dog pizza raises two important questions. Who came up with this monstrosity? And how quickly can it be delivered to my house?
Hot dogs and pizza don’t go together. It’s like Rush Limbaugh and skinny jeans — it just shouldn’t happen.
Hot dogs and pizza — it’s like monogamy in a Kardashian. It’s like a dog show and Michael Vick. It’s like dancing and stars.

We had a new “Dancing With the Stars” tonight, an elimination night and Sherri Shepherd was evicted. I feel bad for her because not only is she off “Dancing With the Stars,” but she has to go back to “The View.”
I hate to see people get kicked off. Just for once I’d like to see someone get kicked onto a reality show.
Facebook is buying the photo-sharing service Instagram for a billion dollars. Instagram is an app that makes your photographs look like vintage Polaroids. Meanwhile, poor Tom from MySpace just announced he’s selling his mom’s Polaroid camera on eBay for $5.
A billion dollars — I don’t know. Unless they have some faded, washed-out photos of Mark Zuckerberg killing a hooker, it doesn’t make sense.

Today in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Rick Santorum officially dropped out of the Republican race. Gettysburg was a great choice because he should’ve dropped out four score and seven years ago.
The New York Mets have started the season with four straight wins. I don’t want to say it’s surprising, but today the Mets tested themselves for steroids.
There’s apparently a 102-year-old man in New York who still works as a valet parking attendant. It’s not easy for him. Every time he parks a car, he has to pull over three times for a bathroom break.
You can tell he’s old. When you tip him a five, he’s like, “Hey, it’s my old roommate, Abe Lincoln.”

Here is Some Mindsteroid Must-Read from David Crossland SPIEGEL
The clock is ticking on a UN-mediated ceasefire deadline on Thursday that no one expects the Syrian regime to respect. German commentators say Bashar Assad’s military power won’t prevent his downfall, and see rays of hope in China’s and Russia’s cooling stance towards him.
United Nations peace envoy Kofi Annan said on Wednesday that Syria had assured the world body that it will respect a ceasefire with rebels due to take effect in fewer than 24 hours. But President Bashar Assad’s forces is keeping up attacks in several cities, and few believe he is serious about stopping the bloodshed.
The West remains opposed to military intervention, though, and action by the UN Security Council has been thwarted by resistance from Russia and China.
German media commentators see a ray of hope in growing signs that China and Russia are starting to turn their backs on Assad — and in Turkey considering setting up a buffer zone in Syria to protect Assad’s opponents. Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday that Syrian troops were “mercilessly” shooting fleeing women and children in the back.
Speaking during a visit to China, Erdogan said he would take unspecified steps after Syrian troops shot at refugees inside Turkey on Monday.
Editorials say Annan’s fall from power is only a matter of time but fear that many more Syrians will die before he is finally ousted. Exile, some say, is likely to be Assad’s only option to save his own life.
CONSERVATIVE DIE WELT WRITES:
“It looks as if the repressive Syrian regime will let its last opportunity for a negotiated solution pass. It is doing so in a complete misjudgement of the situation in which dictator Bashar Assad finds himself. There cannot and won’t be a political future for him in his country which he has betrayed, destroyed and divided. Homs, Hama or Deraa are filled with the rubble of his presidency and with a people filled with hate for the ruler it once so feted.”
“He is completely discredited. That is gradually dawning on the few remaining friends the lonely man in Damascus still has: Russia and China.”
“Militarily, the international community has exhausted itself in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. No one wants another adventure given the well-equipped Syrian army and an uncertain outcome. Turkey seems prepared to set up a security zone in the north of the country which could serve as a basis for the Syrian rebels to conquer the country. That would be the Libyan model.”
“Assad should enquire in Moscow about a ‘Yemeni solution’: exile and freedom from prosecution in return for peace and reconstruction. That is maybe the only chance for the eye doctor to save his life.”
LEFT-WING DIE TAGESZEITUNG WRITES:
“The Assad regime still believes its military superiority will bring it victory. That is a huge mistake. The Syrian population will initially pay the price with many, many further deaths. But the Assad clan will also pay it, with its political downfall and probably its physical destruction as well. That is almost certain to happen. The timeframe remains unclear, as does the number of people who will have to die until the time comes.”
“Now, after the failure of the Annan plan, the civil war will flare up with even greater brutality. All the neighboring states, from Iran and Iraq and Saudi Arabia to Lebanon and Turkey will get militarily involved, whether openly or covertly.”
“Moscow will probably look for an alternative to the Assad clan among the ruling elites of Syria. In order to speed up this process, Moscow may back a UN Security Council Resolution that condemns the regime more sharply.”
“The fighting will drag on for months. The number of victims will rise enormously as will the number of refugees. Sanctions and moral appeals won’t have much impact. The danger that the country could turn into a bloody battlefield for years to come remains real.”
CENTER-LEFT SÜDDEUTSCHE ZEITUNG WRITES:
“Since the outbreak of the Arab popular uprisings, many ways have been found of undermining the success of the peaceful, freedom-loving, jubilant masses in the subsequent months. In Egypt, generals and Islamists are conducting the struggle for power largely among themselves. Militiamen rule Libya and Yemen is effectively ruled by the clan of former president Ali Abdullah Saleh. But nowhere has the yearning for freedom been betryed as blatantly as in Syria. Many rebels continue to oppose the use of violence even after this dreadful year — but they are increasingly irrelevant for the future of their country.”
“The fund of millions of dollars that Saudi Arabia and Qatar plan to provide to assist the uprising, and which American and dozens of other countries want to pay into, will be much more decisive for whether Assad falls and what happens after that. It is one of the blatant contradictions of this project that the Gulf kings want to use their petrodollars to finance an uprising that they have prevented in their own countries by flooding their subjects with far higher sums.”
LEFT-WING BERLINER ZEITUNG WRITES:
“There are growing calls for the opposition to be armed. But it is clear that a militarization of the conflict will primarily play into the hands of the Assad government because the army will stick with him in the face of an armed opposition. But if economic sanctions are imposed by a broad international alliance, and if Assad’s last remaining friends turn away from him, support for the dictator should evaporate. That is the goal.”

CAMERON PIMP PETER CRUDDAS BUSTED AT £250,000 A YEAR
Now be good and read the Losers HorseManure, Ain’t Fuckn’ Delicious I was there. I warned you!
Conservative Party co-treasurer Peter Cruddas has resigned after being filmed apparently offering access to Prime Minister David Cameron in return for donations of £250,000 a year.
The senior Tory fundraiser told undercover reporters pretending to be business representatives that “things will open up for you” if they donated that amount of money to the Tories.
In a meeting secretly recorded by The Sunday Times, he said: “It will be awesome for your business.”
Announcing his resignation, Mr Cruddas said in a statement: “I deeply regret any impression of impropriety arising from my bluster in that conversation. Clearly there is no question of donors being able to influence policy or gain undue access to politicians.
“Specifically, it was categorically not the case that I could offer, or that David Cameron would consider, any access as a result of a donation. Similarly, I have never knowingly even met anyone from the Number 10 policy unit. But in order to make that clear beyond doubt, I have regrettably decided to resign with immediate effect.”
On Sunday morning the Tories announced that Lord Fink is to replace Peter Cruddas as the party’s principal treasurer.
Hedge fund millionaire Lord Fink previously held the role until earlier this month, when it was taken over by Mr Cruddas.
Speaking on Sunday morning David Cameron said: “”What happened is completely unacceptable, this is not the way that we raise money in the Conservative party. It shouldn’t have happened.
“I’ll make sure there is a party inquiry to make sure this can’t happen again.”
A Tory spokesman said: “In the light of the resignation of Peter Cruddas yesterday, Lord Fink has agreed to return as the party’s principal treasurer, the role he stepped down from at the beginning of March. Michael Farmer will continue to support Stanley Fink as a co-treasurer.
“We are grateful to Stanley for agreeing to this and we believe that this will ensure that the treasurers’ department will continue to operate to the highest possible standards under his stewardship.”
Analysis – Has “the next big scandal” broken?
Mr Cruddas said he only took up the post at the beginning of the month and was “keen to meet anyone potentially interested in donating”. He said he had not consulted any politicians or senior party officials before the recorded conversation. Mr Cruddas told the undercover reporters that “premier league” donors – those giving £250,000 a year – could lobby Mr Cameron directly and their views were “fed in” to Downing Street. He said there was no point in “scratching around” with donations of £10,000. According to The Sunday Times, he believed that any prospective donations from the reporters – pretending to be wealth fund executives – would come from Liechtenstein and would be ineligible under election law. They are said to have discussed the creation of a British subsidiary and the possibility of using UK employees to make the donation.
Speaking on Sunday morning David Cameron said: “What happened is completely unacceptable, this is not the way that we raise money in the Conservative party. It shouldn’t have happened.
“I’ll make sure there is a party inquiry to make sure this can’t happen again.”
A Conservative Party spokesman said: “No donation was ever accepted or even formally considered by the Conservative Party. All donations to the Conservative Party have to comply with the requirements of electoral law.
“Unlike the Labour Party, where union donations are traded for party policies, donations to the Conservative Party do not buy party or government policy.”
Labour challenged the Prime Minister to “come clean” about what he knew and when. “Time and again the Tory party has been the obstacle to capping donations from wealthy individuals. Now it appears obvious why,” said Labour MP Michael Dugher who was speaking before Mr Cruddas quit.
The affair is likely to re-ignite the debate surrounding party funding, which has seen the Tories and Labour fail to reach a consensus despite both parties acknowledging the need for reform. The chairman of the Committee on Standards in Public Life, Sir Christopher Kelly, called last year for donations to be capped at £10,000 and for the parties to be funded largely by a taxpayer-funded grant.
But both parties dismissed the report, since the plan would curb the massive donations the unions pay to Labour and wealthy businessmen pump into Tory coffers.
Lib Dem Chief Secretary to the Treasury said the revelations were “utterly disgraceful.”
“This makes the case for reforming the system of party funding even stronger,” Alexander told the Andrew Marr Show on Sunday morning. “Over the next few weeks the three parties will be getting around the table.. to discuss how we can change how party funding works, to get the big funding out of politics.”
Labour shadow minister Michael Dugher said:
“We now hear the Tory treasurer boasting that some of these same millionaires who got a tax cut in the Budget this week can buy a seat at the private Downing Street dinner parties of David Cameron and George Osborne through donations worth hundreds of pounds to the Conservative Party.
“Will the PM say exactly what he knew and when about an apparent effort to sell access and influence in Downing Street?”
Tory deputy chairman Michael Fallon said no donations to the party could ever influence its policies. “I think [Cruddas] was blustering and boasting. No donation was accepted.
“He made a mistake here, and he’s resigned and he’s been replaced… he over-boasted about what you could do with a particular donation. That was wrong. It would certainly not have got through our normal compliance checks.
“Businessmen of course, like anybody else.. get access to politicians all the time. That’s part of the process of government, of listening to business. But the big change now is that if anyone meets a minister in the government, those meetings are not only recorded, but are published.”
